Plastic modelers do the same thing with the panel lines. Coloring the lines adds definition to them which makes them POP.

I just added a new modeling tip to the site that might improve the performance to your Zoids.

Some tips to help with model building.
1: DO NOT remove any parts from the sheets until you need them, this way you know where to find the part you need at the moment. I've heard of kids who take all of the parts out early and get confused when looking for the part they need at that time.
2: Have a knife handy to cut off any excess plastic that sticks to a part. This helps you put the model together so much simpler as the part tends to slide into place without any unneeded plastic getting in the way.
3: Patience is a great virtue. I cannot stress this enough as larger models tend to cause a great deal of frustration. If you find a certain step to be nerve wracking, take a few minutes to relieve the stress that is probably building up within. A clear head helps build models.
4: Always check back a few steps every now and then to make sure you haven't made any mistakes. I made a few mistakes before and I made sure to correct them before continuing. This is important as a mistake can be potentially devastating later on.
I hope these tips help!
